Here's a few pics of my new SAM commander tactical. Fit and Finnish is amazing. Best $550 I've spent in a long time. Trigger pull is crisp and clean. Will post more info after my first range trip.

The sam was tighter and better machined there wasnt really anything wrong with either but dollar for dollar having the two side by side id take the sam. I would allmost say the finish on the ruger was a tad bit better, it was also nice too have something different as well. Alot of people would allways ask her about it and are surprised when we told them how much they cost.

Thanks Skoal : Was that a full size (Model ?) any pics was there a real reason to get rid of it or just moving on..

It was the commander enhanced, it was too heavy for her to shoot for extended periods but I would have liked to have kept it for myself.
 
I have owned the para gi expert, sti spartan, ruger sr 1911, and the SAM 1911s. I like the SAM 1911s over them all. Also if I'm not mistaken SAM is a company that is a branch off of armscor in the Philippines and I'm pretty sure armscor makes the spartan for STI. Great quality guns

Armscor do as far as I know.. just trying to decide betwen the Ruger SR1911 and a full sized SAM in Stainless.. fit finish is what I'mm looking at it seems to be close dollar wise!!

What about support?

Lots of support for 1911's.
Plenty of upgrades and options for parts.

I'd say get the one that looks best to you? I'm not a fan of the black parts on the Ruger and prefer an arched mainspring housing so I'd lean towards the SAM.
