SAM Tactical Commander pics

ive got one of these coming in the mail.

my dad got his this week.
i was facetime'n with him when he got it and he was comparing it to his $1500 Kimber Pro Carry and he said it felt tighter then his kimber...... TIGHTER THEN HIS KIMBER!
granted it hasn't been shot yet like the kimber, but i was blown away by that!
im looking forward to getting mine in and doing some comparisons to my harem of 1911's.

my dad also picked up one of the SAM Titans, the uber small 1911's with the Pinocchio barrels.
he says he loves it.
fit and finish on both are top shelf.
 
I love my SAM Omega6 9mm. Ryan at Wolverine has been great. I will be ordering a SAM Thunderbolt in the polished stainless in a month or two. Ryan says they are SAM's version of a custom shop gun, easily the equal of an STI Trojan. Won't need any work out of the box ready to go. And they are freakin cool looking!

I know that a rail gun is not to everyones liking, but as I am a woman and that is a .45, shooting friends said the extra weight might help me manage the recoil. Plus, it looks freakin cool! Oh sorry, I already mentioned that.

That's a really nice model K. a few more bucks than the others it has all the bells your lucky it's a nice combination to own

I just hope I don't regret it. Not regret buying a SAM, would never regret that. Regret getting a .45. Shot a friends Kimber .45 with his handloads and it felt nicer than factory loads in my 9mm. I'll have to find his recipe and see if my reload guy can whip me up a batch. LOL. Maybe if I wait a month or two, things will get slow and they will go on sale.

I know what you mean but if you start to reload that should take care of it if needed
 
OP have you had a Norinco in the past? Curious to see how they compare in fit and quality, currently have a Norc Commander 1911 with Armco's treatment, and love it. Though I definitely dig the look of that SS Thunderbolt.

Kschneider, I think you will be very happy with a .45 in a 1911, it would be a shame to own multiple 1911's with none in 45! When I was starting out I had a considerably easier time with a 1911 in .45 than a P226 in .40, I'm not sure if it's the 1911 frame or .45 in general, but I find it way less snappy.

Yes, I won't even consider a .40 in a 1911. My 9mm SAM Omega 6 eats everything, even truncated. Yet, the same model in .40 has a hard time. Guys on a thread about it are trying different mags and having problems. When I bought my Omega 6, I asked the man I deal with at Wolverine if I will have the same troubles, and he said not to worry. It's just trouble because of the .40 cal. ammo, not 9mm. That's probably why the Omega 6 in .40 has been on sale for $200.00 less then the 9mm for months. I wish mine had been only $450.00. LOL.

SAM is a separate company....there are 3 1911 makers in the Philippines...

Armscor is by far the largest.....in the US these are sold under Rock Island brand.
SAM is sold in the US under American Tactical Imports

Norinco and SAM are not even close in my opinion. I have torn both guns down to nothing but the frames and the sam is by far better quality. Now that being said, I don't think the norincos are bad 1911's at all. They are great guns. I have had 3 norinco 1911's and they were all great but if I had to choose between the best norinco you can buy and the bottom of the barrel sam 1911 I would go with the sam. Ps: I think Gunnar does great work at armco. I am fortunate enough to live 10 minutes drive from his shop. Great guy.

glockguy-187: good choice, I am a big fan of the Commander length 1911's and my Commander-E is now my favorite 45...for some reason it just seems to shoot better than my other 1911's ( 2- Colts and a Remington Rand).
Only problem so far was with light primer strikes, a new mainspring fixed that and now it runs with no problems.
