Hello CGN,

I currently am waiting for my Rpal so I am looking for good pistol ranges in the area of Norfolk County and brant county.

Waterford sportsmen club - is full I am currently on a waiting list. (who knows how long that will take)

Brantford revolver and Rifle Club - also full not accepting applicants until 2015.

HaHa - not full but wow 370$ to join which seems expensive and the furthest away.

The reason I am getting my Rpal is to join IPSC production class with a CZ Shadow. It seems like I'm running out of options in the area. Does anyone know of other clubs in the area which has IPSC? Tanks for the help.

I am (was that is) a member at Silverdale for the last 15 years. Silverdale is awesome, but I didn't renew this year for one reason - crowding on the weekends. I've heard (take it for what it's worth) that Silverdale is approaching 4,000 members. Again, I'm not disparaging Silverdale or Doug and Joan in any way, I just got fed-up waiting to shoot on the action range and the 200m range on weekends.

That being said, they did just build 3 more "action" ranges. It's my understanding that 1 of them will be used for "guest" shooters exclusively, that should free up the other action ranges for members only.

I decided to join EESA (East Elgin) this year, for a several reasons:

1] Indoor range on site.
2] Huge 2-story clubouse with REAL bathrooms (woot!)
3] 300m range
4] Elected board members!

To join all you need to do is attend one of the monthly range orientations where you'll get a tour of the club and John (stormbringer on CGN) will go over everything you need to know.

OverKill

PS - EESA is in Alymer, wouldn't be too far from you.

Waterford is opening up the waiting list and is starting to call those on the waiting list to get their club course in First classes are being held shortly. It depends on how far down on the list you are but we hope to have everyone called and done by the end of Feb so be patient. Have you taken your Black Badge yet. ... if not the instructor there is not going to have another course until the spring when the weather warms up. The indoor range in front of the ports is brutal in the winter.

Does anyone belong to HAHA? is it any good? $150 of the $370 is a one time fee so $220 renewals are still good.

I've had all sorts of admin issues with them. Started with very slow processing of my membership application after the payment, to the point of wasting most of my first season. By the time I got my "temporary" membership card (still got it and no permanent card), got to the point where it would have been too late to make it out there after work. Turned into the most expensive single range trip without firing full auto - $400. Didn't get a renewal notice in the mail and even if I did, I wouldn't bother. Most likely gonna join SD as my #2 club. The drive's about the same from where we stand, they also got action ranges and better range for rifle (twice the distance). For handguns, you're better off sticking with BRRC.

And if you are tall, standing at the ports burns your head, I don't have that problem :)

That's great news for me I'm pretty sure I'm near the top of the list cause I was there about 2 weeks after they announced the waiting list. And it's only 5 minutes from where I am
I have not taken black badge yet but I am in no rush I just want my foot in the door to start.

Think you to all the replies I am currently researching all. The suggestions.
