Dominion Arms Non-corrosive Primers

to bad they are Winchester sized packaging, but they look good, if someone gives me $350 i will buy 12k worth of primers and let you know how it goes.

Dominion Murom Berdan primers now in with Canam

Just want to let everybody know that the Berdan primers they have at the moment ( KV-24N ) are designed for 7.62x39mm reloading (soft ignition with hard cups) and may or may not work with reloading larger berdan cases.

The Russian company that makes them has at least 2 versions, one for the 7.62x39 cartridge KV-24N and one for the 7.62x54r and 7.62x51mm sized cartridges KV-762N.

Hey question for the group. I hand load for revolvers with reduced power springs and use Federal Small Pistol and Large Pistol Primers Exclusively.

Does anyone have any experience with these Dominion Primers. How hard are they? CCI hard? Winchester or are they a little softer.

Just asking if anyone has any feedback.

when my order gets here i will let you know how they work in my 586 as it has light strikes (1 out of 10 rounds) with anything but federal primers as well.

$40 per k is not crazy expensive. It seems to be below average here. $60 I have seen and that is expensive, they stayed on the shelf of course.About $45 per k plus tax is normal here.Go
nna order up some dominions methinks.

Forgot about this thread, I posted over in the Canada ammo thread, I will hopefully get some tests done tonight.

got my 7000 primers in the mail, knife and some sweet canada ammo swag! very happy with them for my first order, i can assure you it won't be the last!!

with regard to the primers the packaging sucks as i suspected it would, the primers spilt inside the box they come in due to loose cardboard sleeves. the same thing happens with winchester and federal brand primers but never CCI or S&B from my experience.

visually the primer cups look very thick, but seem to react similar to Winchester in seating and take a decent amount of force to flatten them inside the brass. i obviously don't try and flatten them, but it happens somewhat with the tight S&B primer pockets. i've loaded up 100 rounds of 9mm with 124gr BDX on top of 3.9gr of w231 for my first test. i may also do a test that Ganderite did with the flame size shooting the primer only.

ordered 1000 berdans, will be trying to reload steel 7.62x39, possibly removing live corrosive primers and "mexican matching" the ammo.

havent decided if removing live primers is a good idea yet

I've done it once by putting water and oil in a needle and injecting it into the 2 flash holes. Then using a small drill bit drilled into the primer and prayed it out that way. It never went off but I took my time.

I got 1k of berdan as well for 7.5x55 gp11 ammo but they take time to prime and seat to deep I think. I got 10 primed I'm going to fire off and see how it goes.

My 10K arrived yesterday. They loaded well on my Dillon and I fired 100 today with no issues. Packaging was fine as I purchased whole cases. I normally use Federal, these are shaped more like Winchester. Happy camper!
