S&B 3X12X56 PM ll or Hendzolt 4X16X56 both in FFP....

Looking to get a smaller scope for my FNAR, my 5X25 PMll is a great fit but i think, it is very big, for my rifle ( very compact rifle), i have been strolling over the dealers and those 2 could fill the bill... Is the Hendzolt equal or a lot better than a S&B... 2700.00 ( in sale, regular 3220.00) for the S&B and 3300.00 for the Hendzolt both in FFP and 34 mm, not being and expert, i think they are very close and the 600.00 difference could be the big difference but i am losing 4X of power... Will read on it and sort this out in the weekend, anyone own both makes... JP.

Don't you think that a 56mm objective is too big for your kind of rifle. If I had to scope that elusive gun I would choose no more that 12-15 max magnification and 40 or 44 mm obj.

You could be right but now that my vision is back to normal, i will go with the one i could not use before, this Hendsoltz 4X16X56 according to the reading i did today, is really a top shelve scope... JP.
