The following is the first of many (I hope) how-to videos for various firearm related stuff. My plan is to keep all my videos under 7 minutes (the first one is 4.5 minutes), tight editing, and keep the chit-chat to a minimum.

I started out simple with a video showing how to remove the spring from the sear activator on the TAVOR. If you own a TAVOR, you probably already know how to do this of course, but as I said, this is my first video and I wanted to keep it simple.... it's my trial run I guess.

I'm open to constructive criticism if you have any suggestions!

FINALLY! Someone who gets it ie Short, to the point using the only necessary explanations required with good overhead video and good lighting.

Nothing worse than trying to watch a 20min instructional video (for a 5minute job) with 5mins ho-hum intro before actually doing the work, then 5mins of tinkering for each part they need to remove etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm still appreciative that people make these videos but damn, some are way too long than is necessary.

Can't give any constructive criticism on the videography, OK...far as I'm concerned it's perfect...but I think I heard some people saying that the trigger won't reliably re-set properly. I think it then turned into an argument and finally a full blown internet food fight. Have you experienced any problems in the real world with that mod?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

I'm going to SHOT this year, but I'm hoping to have the time to do a couple more videos. A review and demonstration of an ultra-sonic cleaner I picked up on eBay a few months ago. I'll probably use my Glock 17 for this, as it hasn't been cleaned in quite some time.

And since I consider myself an un-certified un-professional armature gunsmith (!), I'll likely do a video of the basic tools I picked up over the last several months and the cool workbench I got at Costco. I'll keep these short too, aiming for 7 minutes or less.

Got my first subscriber today too, I'm guessing it might have been someone from CGN, thanks!

There's actually another really well done video on youtube about the removal of that spring (found it after I uploaded mine). The guy that did that video explains that the spring was added by IWI later to improve the reset under "battle conditions" where the trigger pack could become VERY clogged up with muck/mud/etc.

Here's the link to his video if you're interested. He even uses a hockey puck "bench block" too!

In fact, the older trigger packs in the US version didn't have this extra spring in them, or the roll pin to hold one.

To answer your question, I've fired a few hundred rounds with zero issues with reset or anything else. It's still a relatively heavy trigger even without this added spring. TV-PressPass has mentioned in another thread here that Geissele Automatics may (will?) be introducing a drop-in trigger pack for the TAVOR, which would be great.

Lucky bugger! Have fun at SHOT. Now you got 2 subscribers...

I should thank TV-PressPass publicly. He saw a preliminary edit of my video which was almost 8 minutes long, and rightly suggested I trim it down. I ended up re-shooting all the video from scratch and re-editing everything. 5am bedtime last night (this morning?). :)

So thanks TV-Presspass!

Beers in Vegas is really the best thanks :D

Welcome to the club of "just one more cut, to tighten this up a little"

Great video , Thanks.

Can you please do a video of Tavors complete disassembley ???? removing the barrel and so on...

How "complete" do you want the dis assembly? :)

I have a copy of the TAVOR armorers manual, and it details complete, and I mean COMPLETE breakdown, including every part in the trigger pack. Yikes!

If I did do that, the video would be a tad longer than 4.5 minutes I think. :)

Challenge accepted! I'll do my best to get it done sometime after I get back from SHOT and have it posted by mid February. I'm not going to lie.... the thought of it scares me a bit.
