My brother had one for a few years. The brass life was incredible compared to a regular swift but the gain in performance was minimal. When he rebarreled he went with a plain old swift in a fast twist.
Since I can remember, I have always wanted a 220 swift in a Ruger #1 varminter. I owned a 22-250 and it rocked. To me the 220 Swift was always a more elegant cartridge.
I barreled one in 220 swift 1-8 twist not to long ago and it pushed an 80 grainer over 3250 fps ,I think an improved version wouldn't give it mush more steam really .
Ballistically it will be almost identical to the 220 Weatherby Rocket, so if you have that data in one of your load manuals you can see what it will do. - dan
