.455 Webley reloading for New Service

W231 was a pretty dirty powder. It used to be a "go to" for loading 200 gr SWC .45ACP target loads back in the 1990's.

I always preferred Red Dot or Bullseye for my .45ACP loads as I found W231 just too dirty for my liking.

While I've never used W231, I've found Unique to be similar to what you've experienced with W231. My powder preference when I was into serious paper punching using a 45 ACP was also Bullseye. As dirty as it is though, I still have a good quantity of Unique on hand as it's very versitile for light, moderate and heavier loads in a number of handgun calibres.
