H&k p30ls....

I had a v3; I wanted to love it, but I couldnt. Holding it, dry firing - most comfortable pistol Ive encountered; but when shooting it, my high thumb grip was incompatible. No matter what, my thumb would contact the slide release and that gun would not lock open after the last shot. Yes, I could change my grip and lower my thumb, but it wasnt as comfortable or as accurate. Ive never been more dissapointed in a gun than I was in the P30 - because it was a great gun that I wanted to love, but we wernt made for each other.

You can get a short slide release for them, don't know if it would have helped.

I love my P30LS. It had some issues with CCI blazer aluminum, but can't fault the gun for that. Everything brass so far gets eaten up.

Trigger needs work, but I don't care, it's so accurate regardless.

I never had a ftf or a stovepipe with mine, but with lite loads the brass would basically land in my shirt pocket. Once I upped the charge just a couple of tenths no more problems. Still well below max, but hotter than My other nines need to cycle.

stepped chamber should not be used with aluminum casing. That is stated in the user's manual.

I had the same issue as True North26. I ended up trading it for a Springer stainless loaded .40 1911. It had all of the potential to be the best pistol out there but the length of the slide release was its achilles heel. I would acquire another if there were a source for shorter slide releases, LEM trigger packs and of course affordable mags. For now I stick with Gen4 Glock with the beavertail.

not really wanting to start fanboy sh!t storm, but,.... Those complaining about the slide release. Do you really think that engineers would make that mistake on purpose in the 3rd generation of a gun platform?
With proper grip, there are 0 issues with this design.

If you shoot Glock and having issues with the P30, It is very probable that you ride the slide of your Glock, or, you point your thumbs slightly UP when you shoot (thumbs should point straight at the target, not up or up and riding the slide).
If so, that technique is incorrect regardless of the platform you are using.
I have seen several times, Glocks not going to slide lock due to the shooter riding the slide. The Glock, though, it is a lot more permissible to slide riding due to it's smaller slide release, still, riding the slide is incorrect.

For 1911 shooters, maybe the same applies due to the movement required to remove the safety.

+1 or you have very worn old P30L like mine and the slide release becomes flimsy lol.
