FN AR-15 to be sold to public

Unless the rifles are dirt cheap they won't sell very well. The specs are SH!t and inline with low end brands like dpms and Olympic/sgw/NEA. Being fn I'm betting they're priced way too high.

Very true, however there are a large number of FN fanboys out there for them to make enough cash off.

Really? People are going to complain about having too many options when deciding what brand to buy? In canada?
I guess everything is relative. ..
f:P:

Low quality brands are not really an option so having yet another sub standard non mil sdpec offering is not a net gain.

Just spent 3 hours with it. It's beauuutiful. And a ton of fun to shoot!

I'm a big fan of the full length rifle. For $1150 I'd buy one in a heartbeat. We'll see what CAD prices are like I guess!

(click for big eh?)

Why not buy a cheap ar like a M&P sport or Palmetto state armory, and paint a FNH logo on it? Ultimately all I see is that badge stamped and painted on the side of an otherwise budget built ar15. I'm sorry but $1150 is in the price point of much better quality ars in the us like bcm and PSA. Now if FN also sold, stripped lowers. Then that would be sweet. Buy a FN lower put a top shelf upper with a alg trigger, and a proper buffer setup. And for gods sake how hard is it to put in some pmags instead of the GI?

Considering they have had the US military contract for M16s for years. The M16A3 I had in the US Navy was FN built. Colt has the contract for the M4s.

But this has nothing in common with fn contracted m16s. Last I checked the barrel was 4140 button rifled not chf, and the carrier is not up to snuff, and the bolt is not hpi or mpi tested. Why would I not be surprised if this was a commercial spec buffer tube instead of a mil spec buffer tube.
