Hi,

would it be possible to machine this, (offcourse it would be) but the question is any companies/shops in Canada that would make this part. also would there be a demand for it. It is really ecstatically pleasing, and serves its function.



It is a compensator for the tokarev, more specifically Yugo M57.
INB4 "there is one already on the market"..yes there is, this one bellow, I already have it, but it looks like a blind walrus tried to make it out of a piece of ice.


This one was locally produced in Serbia/Yugoslavia.
Last summer I went to the only gun store in Belgrade and asked and the owner told me that they used to sell them for 15E, but the "old guy went belly up" actual words. so none are made any more.

Just to give you a general idea.

It's not an easy part to hold in a vise, so either there's gonna be alot of swearing or you're gonna need to build a few jigs to handle the various steps.

Next would be contouring the comp to the slide. If you got really lucky you could buy a cutter that matched the angles but otherwise you have to move the part multiple times to get the effect.

Overall, while it doesn't look technically challenging, there is alot of work here.

You might be able to talk a bored machinist into making one for a hundred bucks, or cleaning up the one you've got for about the same.

Unless there was a fair amount of demand I'm very doubtful that anyone other than the guy doing it now will bother to pick up on it.

The demand is extremely low for this item, but worth a shot.

Worried about recoil on a 7.62x25mm? I'm sure not! Tokerav is the smallest caliber pistol I own and I wouldn't bother with a compensator. That's just my two cents... But they do look nice!
 
If the Beretta SGS compensators are anything to go by, they'll be pretty expensive. From the original manufacturer, they were $60 until they stopped making them. A smaller company is making them now at ~$250.

It is a slip on grip, complete replacement straight from the same plant as the gun.

about 5ish years ago, one member here wanted one and could only order bulk, so he bought about 100 and sold them on the EE,
