The 760/7600 Club

here's one that started out as a 742 semi. It's a .308 that I removed the gas block and sealed it off, I changed out the bolt head and front forend and slide. put on a set of 7600 stocks but it's basically a 760. A new set of fiber optic sites and it's a tack driver.

Cool on the 257 very rare gun. But no 222 or 223 leftys as I say. I have seen quite a few in 3006
I would say my 223 or 7mm08 would be the rarest 760/7600 I have so far or the NIB 35W carbine with wood stock set

Yep if you have those you are clearly buying state side or someone was since most listed are special runs through Grice Wholesale in Clearfield Pennsylvania and never offered as regular production nor in canada. That is how I got the 7mm08 in blue laminated off gun broker.
There was talk they were going to do the 35W carbine also as a special run but so far all I have seen is the std walnut 35W and that was around 2004

This being "dad's" first ever scope, all the more reason he should do it right! As a guy with a handful and a half of Remington pump action rifles, I can say with certainty that the see-thru style rings are too high. Even when placed on the monte carlo stocked rifles they are far from ideal. Been there, done that...just trying to save the guys a bunch of trouble, money and a sore cheek!

1970's Vintage 7600 in .30-06, with the deluxe walnut and checkering. Got it from my girlfriends father, and he got it from the Township he worked for when he was a kid! Wouldn't see that anymore. Will throw some pictures up soon
 
My son has one in 65-55 swedish,my father had a new barrel put on it years ago and gave it to him when he quit hunting..

I'm interested in this conversion what is involved I have my grand fathers 742 but it jams once in awhile I was going to retire it but would rather keep it going.
 
Love those 760 and 7600s. I collect them and the mod 14s. These babies have kept the freezer full for years. I have 22 of them and looking for more.

Just a few questions re 7615 for the club ..

Best online location for a spare firing pin for a 7615?

Other parts that should be kept close? ( how are these on extractors etc. )

Are 7600 parts basicly interchangable ? ( obviously not barrel mag well etc. )

Edit: Numrich in the US .. has a $30.00 extra shipping charge , but they have all the parts .. some US posters say the quality/finish of each part from Numrich ( not a direct comment re 7615 parts ) has to be determined before you put them in the parts drawer, but they do have parts .. and something that needs a tweek is better than nothing JMHO

Im in. I have a 760 carbine in 30-06 that is my go to that I have shot 23 deer over the years with. I have even slammed a couple yotes with it. I also have a model six in 243.
 
So..............if anybody is itching to own a 760 in 6.5 x 55, mine WAS for sale now in the EE forum.............:dancingbanana:
