The 760/7600 Club

Okay, I'm in...

New guy on the block. About to start my deer hunting career at an old age, so figured I needed an old gun to match. Just picked up a 760 in .270 Winchester...made January 1957. Sorry no pics...

Cheers,

R

A wise choice, sir!

I'm back in, sold off my 760 in 308 awhile back but just last week picked up a 760 in 30.06. Took it to the range and shot 1 ¼ MOA and could have shot ¾ MOA if I hadn't messed up the third shot.

If you had not taken the second shot, you would have had a .000 group! ;)

Just got an unfired 7mm-08.

Passed on a minty 223 not too long ago. I just couldn't justify it for the amount of $$ it was going for.

Just a few questions re 7615 for the club ..

Best online location for a spare firing pin for a 7615?

Other parts that should be kept close? ( how are these on extractors etc. )

Are 7600 parts basicly interchangable ? ( obviously not barrel mag well etc. )

Thanks ...

Edit: Numrich in the US .. has a $30.00 extra shipping charge , but they have all the parts .. some US posters say the quality/finish of each part from Numrich ( not a direct comment re 7615 parts ) has to be determined before you put them in the parts drawer, but they do have parts .. and something that needs a tweek is better than nothing JMHO

Just a friendly bump as I have the same interest...

Paid a visit to the local gunstore this afternoon. They had a used 7600 synthetic in .308 in excellent condition at a reasonable price. I just couldn't help myself and had to bring it home. Cheers Bac4
760/7600 pumps are very popular in Ontario, esp in 270Win.

Had a 760 since 1967, paid $100 bucks for it and it's still a fav. Always wanted a 742 to match and snagged one this spring in like new condition.

I am looking for a 35 whelen in a 7600. who has one for sale?
will consider a bolt action as well.

I have an older 760 in 308. I bought two new magazines for it but neither one fits right. One won't engage all the way in and the other goes in too far sometimes. Has anyone else had trouble with the new mags? Maybe I'll have to do some tweaking.
