JP, you can just screw out the the peep aperture and use it as a ghost ring. Being located that far from the shooters eye, it might be better, and faster, to use it as a ghost ring.

I have Skinner peeps on Henry's and Handi's... They have a large aperture insert as well, which I like better than the open threads... My ghost ring peep on my .44 Mag brush buster is a NoDak Spud NDS-38... They are very solid and have a great adjustment system.

You know JP, for someone who is getting out of non-restricted in favour of restricted, you sure do buy a lot of rifles.
I said i was coming into restricted, i never said i was going out of NR, got rid of the a little bit of the extraweight in NR and i'm almost set to go, but when IRG got this FNAR available or they pull out a Berreta CX-4 Storm NR, i could not let them go by me without doing nothing, but if Clay show up with a M21 M1A NR, i will make a move, and being a rookie at restricteds, i did layaway half a dozen or so, but when i start to like them more, it is sure, i am gonna go for top notch AR like a KAC SR-25 but i think i did good with my preparation with my Wilson 45 1911, DE 44mag, DDMK18 and Ruger SR762... Nothing wrong in getting ready, dont hate me for doing so... JP.

Sorry, my mistake... I was under the impression you were changing over to restricted only - I guess I was wrong.
I'm sure all the non-restricted retailers will be happy to hear that.

I've got nothing against big loop levers, the DRC ones are nice, but the shape of that one leaves a lot to be desired imo.
That doesn't surprise me JP. But don't you feel the least bit guilty that you have four .357 lever guns and I don't have any?
I think you'd feel much better if you gave one of those .357's to me. And my little Ruger SP101 would have a rifle to share it's
cartridges with. Sounds like a good idea to me JP.
I just got mine today and all I can say is WOW. I initially bought a Rossi in 454 Casull from Wanstalls but that thing turned out to be a huge lemon. It was missing the right cartridge guide when i got it. Wanstalls sent me a replacement part but it wouldn't feed anyhow. I sent it back to them in exchange for the Chiappa. Big difference! The fit and finish is great. The action is very slick and it feeds and ejects flawlessly. I can't wait to take it out once my little time-sponges (kids) let me leave the house for something other than work. I've read that other guys had feeding problems with their Chiappas but thankfully I'm not amongst them. Maybe I just got lucky but this thing rocks. Big shout out to Gary and Daniel at Wanstalls for their awesome service!

As you can see they did a really nice job on the finish. It's a nitride finish but at first glace it looks like a dark parkerizing. The photos don't do it any justice, it actually is darker in person. The wood is beautiful and very well fitted with a semi gloss finish. Chiappa is known for giving their guns a pretty look.
It has an enlarged lever but it's tastefully done and nowhere near as ungodly as the Rossi large loops. I have a Ranch Hand and that is my only gripe with it.
The rear sight is a Skinner peep that's screwed in place. The aperture is removable and can be replaced with different sizes (available from Skinner Sights). The sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation. There are also two drilled and tapped screw holes forward of the rear sight which is certainly for a scope base but the instructions don't say, nor does Chiappa's online shop offer one. My only wish is that they had plug screws, but that I a minor issue.
The front sight is a unique arrangement. It is not a Skinner front sight but appears to be a Chiappa design. It's an orange fiber optic blade mounted in a notched base. Two pins secure it in place. The literature claims that the front sight is replaceable but I haven't found where they are available. The front sight is fixed, so all adjustments need to be done on the rear sight.
Lastly, the butt has a rubber recoil pad. It's very thin so don't expect any help from it for recoil management. It will certainly help in securing the butt in the shoulder pocket though.
Internally eveything is superbly made and I can't see any of the rough portions or machine marks I've grown accustomed to with Rossi rifles. It does have a plastic magazine follower that I plan on replacing with a steel one. I can only assume that the offerings from stevesgunz.com will work even though they are advertized for Rossi's
