Just wondering if any of you guys have had a trigger job done on your tavor. I know all about removing the trigger reset spring, but I'm looking for a better solution. I remember seeing a vid Nutnfancy did that improved the trigger without removing the spring. I'm just curious how much a improvement was made. Have any of you guys taken your trigger pack to a gunsmith to see how much they can improve it? If so was it worth the money?
I was really hoping to get a Timney trigger for it, but it seems they are only for the SAR-21.

I wouldn't be messing around with my Tavor trigger with some voodoo gunsmith magic, the only thing that'll work is:
1 removing the spring, helps about 2 pounds (not worth the trouble if you ask me...)
2 changing the whole trigger system

I took mine apart and I am extremely pleased with the results. Managed to get rid of that gritty feel during the initial uptake. The heavy pull didn't bother me as much but that grittiness while pulling the trigger annoyed the cap out of me.
I remove the return spring and also slightly bent the hammer spring and the trigger pull weight difference is night and day. I wish I have a trigger pull gauge to measure what it is now.
Anyways the hardest part of the trigger disassembly is taking the Hammer secure pin out, when you get it off just push the pivot pins out and polished away. On Nutfancy s video Yoda went as far as filing materials off the hammer, I just polished mine with dremel and it got rid of that grittiness feel. You will need to polish the sear, hammer and the auto sear.
The job took me a couple of hours to do, polish, reassemble and then test. I did that about three times before I found the happy spot. I'll disassemble it again tomorrow and post pictures.

Pics would be cool, but I'm not brave enough to do this myself. I don't have a problem doing these types of mods on my cheaper guns that have easy to replace parts, just incase I screw up. I eamailed Alberta Tactical to see if they have done any before, or if they'd be willing to. I hope to hear back from them tomorrow.

unless you need something this week, I'd wait on the Timney trigger I used at shot show. impressive doesn't begin do describe it

I always want things immediately, I'm a big baby! But I love complete solutions, I'm not going to start grinding things with a grinder, let's face it I'm not that guy.
So this Timney pack, will it fit? When will it be available?

If Timney are able to provide a trigger pack that will fit our IWI Tavors, I'll be ordering one of those ASAP! I have a 3lb drop in Timney in one of my AR's and it is very nice.

TVPP, were you able to discuss the possibility of Timney producing a trigger that will fit our Tavor version when you visited their booth?

Sorry guys, I'm officially on vacation right now. I did a week of overtime before Shot, then Shot, then I've got 3 days vacation, before going half-way across the country to Mordor (montreal) for another week overtime!

That being said: I have footage of all 3 Tavor Trigger packs demo'd at the show and thoughts on each. It'll come. I promise.
