Not a single word for civilan G36 from the shot sho 14 Does HK disappoint us again?

I talked to the contact I know at HK and he said it is just some BS rumour that originated on the internet. There is no such thing.

Funny how reading the speculation and rumour on the internet.
Just got back from SHOT.
Yes a civilian G36 has been produced and is in the works, it is the same designation as what was reported on the firearm blog. I spoke personally with a German member of the HK staff at their booth.
Timeline on getting into Canada? Unconfirmed and would still need to be examined for approval.

Very strong sales and new very large contracts for Light and Medium MG's from the Federal German Armed Forces. Strong military and police sales worldwide. Numerous countries adopting the G36,
light, durable, reliable (very, very reliable) and very cost effective (low cost). They have had their bumps in the road as a company...like many....but are not going anywhere. They are trying to
work on their customer service for civilian sales, but (this is a tough pill to swallow for civilians) military and police get priority.

PS: the new integrally suppressed MR rifles were the most impressive item I fired at the show. I would call them "disruptive technology".

Could you elaborate on the integrally suppressed rails and why it's disruptive tech ? Seems very interesting.

And thank you for the insight on the g36, hopefully no issues getting into Canada.

I think one hand is not talking to the other. The guy I talked to said this was brought up in a meeting last week and nothing was confirmed.

On another sidenote. I don't recall HK officially announcing they will release any new hardware at SHOT. It was speculation because of that leaked 243/293 document. Nowhere did HK officially say, hey come to shot, we have a brand new rifle for you. They will be releasing a pistol at the NRA show, possibly two. The striker fired P30x as it is being dubbed on internet rumours, and possibly a P30sk, think P2000sk, except P30 frame instead of P2000 frame. There was also rumours of a single stack micro 380 dubbed HK3, but that one has not been confirmed and sounds highly unlikely.

Sorry Rebel Rouser, no disrespect but your contact is not informed. The gun is finished and named, HK Germany probably doesn't want to officially inform their partners over here yet.

As for the suppressors, nothing short of incredible. They offer advantages over conventional cans in all respects. I'm sorry I'm a bit too lazy to type the volumes of information I learned about them. No need to regulate the gas on the weapon and they do not increase the rate of fire on the gun. The suppressor module only extends 4 inches beyond the muzzle of the gun. No back gas pressures at all. Very quiet and very accurate on the guns. HK would not partner with anyone like this unless it was very special...and it is.

Could it be that the HK head office instructed the SHOT show representatives to shut up about the G36 civilian version?. For whatever reason they don't want to go public with it yet or something like that?.

This just shows exactly the type of company hk is, bunch of monkeys running around without a plan or strategy that think they are firearms supergods!

Great. So you don't like HK. We got the message. You are excused now. Isn't there a norinco thread for you to salivate over?

Or perhaps you can point us to where HK officially said they were releasing the G36 at SHOT. Because all I found was internet rumours. The integrally suppressed mr556 was officially announced before shot, and displayed at shot just like they said. Where did the company say they are releasing a new rifle and pistol on SHOT? Oh wait they didn't.

so much arguing over nothing, In some ways it was so much simpler before the internet when rifles were "available" when you seen them on the shelf at the store.

Now we have pre sales, speculation and hype somerimes even before a rifle is legally on the market in canada.

Well. My personal experience is like that

German guys make really good products. But suck on marketing

Except the car industry Audi BMW Benz Porsche are really good on marketing
And know how to play it with rich customer and make them pay more than what it worth lol

To be honest, I would talk to the reps from HK Germany to get the best info. I find the HK USA reps barely know whats going on in their own market, let alone the rest of HKs other markets. **(That is a general statement and does not apply to all the reps)** Hence the diifernt answers people are getting.

Yup, untill its physically in the store and for sale, don't even bother with the "hype". Applies to all products and brands.
