Called today, and they no longer see if it is in their offices, as stated in the opening post. I was hoping I would get a nice person! It has been received by them, though. That I know for sure. Now Just going to check online until I see it show up. Girl on the phone said it could take 45 days! Bollocks!

New guy here. Wrote exam Nov.26th, sent all registered Nov.28th. Waiting patiently but have tried to call several times, cannot even get through....recording......arrrgh

Hi Everyone,
First off I would like to thank you all for the advice I received from this thread. Here is my story.
My application was received on Nov. 20th so after reading this thread I called on the 10th of Dec. I was polite and asked if there was any update or information missing as I was unable to check the status online. I was asked a pile of identification questions and informed that all was good and that a telephone interview was coming and unfortunately no one was available to do the interview at that time. I was then directed to someone who looked into my web login. I was informed that it was too soon for it to show up online. I thanked them and said have a nice day. Two days later I noticed that the my CC was charged 80.00. I figured I would wait now that the holidays were upon us and on the 2nd I decided to call as non of my references were called and neither was I. Jan 2nd I called up and was given my app number and asked if I had time to do my phone interview and also if I wanted I could get my references to call in with that app number to speed things up. I did my interview in about 4 min and happily said have a nice day. On the 7th I was able to get my two references to call in and 20 min after the 2nd one called it showed up online as approved!!! (I forgot to mention that eventually I was able to see that my app was pending online) The message online said that if my card did not show up within 2 weeks to call... well 7 days later there was that envelope from them with my nice new shiny card in it which will be shown tonight for the first time when I pick up my first 3 firearms.
56 days start to finish considering we had holiday time in there in my opinion is not bad at all. I'm sure it could have taken longer had I not read this thread and made that first call.
Thank you

When I am checking online, do I put name, DOB, place of birth, and the 00000000 for new applicant each time I check? Once it is in their system, will it show another page after this? Currently I am getting an error saying they have no such person on file.

BC Application
Application Received 2013/11/19
Charged Dec 10 2013
Found out that photo was signed but missed the photo sig on form, but found out by calling and had to wait to get form mailed back to have signed and mail back received Jan 03.
In meantime when I called in to see if form had been received they did interviews, finished up by about Jan 10 and then it went off to the BC CFO.
Application "stuck" at "completed initial processing" and didn't change to approved after all interviews were completed so I called back to get to BC CFO to inquire. First couple of calls I got another CFO helping out and they really couldn't do much except say be patient, big backlog BLAH BLAH, one mentioned BC is running at about a 6-9 month application to completion time. Called a few times to EXT 9530 which is BC CFO until I finally got a BC agent on phone, she put me on hold for about 2 min and came back to say its approved.

Application received Nov 19, Approved January 17.

I applied September 23/13 from B.C. Got a letter from them end of November asking me to call in, which I did, they just asked me some questions and verified a few things on my application. My references got the same letter, they both called in last week. It's best to call first thing in the morning or at the end of the day so you don't spend forever on hold. I called again yesterday and was told that its been approved and I should be receiving my actual card in the mail in the next week to 10 days. (so far, 112 days waiting (80 business days) but part of that was one of my references not calling in until 3 weeks after she received the letter, so make sure your references call in asap!)

Finally received my PAL for non restricted and restricted in the mail yesterday! Only took 118 actual days from the date of mailing my application!

Upgrade of PAL to RPAL (Quebec):

Oct 25. Application, in Xpresspost envelope, has been dropped at the local police station.
Oct 28. Application has been delivered to Miramichi.
Nov 20. Credit card has been charged and application appeared in the system (not completely sure that application appeared at the same date, as the credit card charge, may be it was few days later).
Dec 3th - Called Miramichi, and was told to call in one week.
Dec 10th - Called Miramichi, and was told that application has been transferred to Quebec CFO. Then called Quebec CFO office and was told to call back in the middle of January. The reason of delay is the upcoming holidays :)
Jan 14th - Called Quebec CFO office and was told to call back in 20 days. This time lady was very kind and promised to put the priority on my application.
Jan 16th - Got a call from Quebec CFO office and passed and interview. Both referenced were interviewed the same day. In few minutes status of application has been changed to ‘Approved’.

Sent my app in Dec 9th.
Called in Jan 17 and they said it's at the final approval phase and is with the CFO in Ontario.
I wonder how much longer it will be now. Still can't check my status online though.

Mine has been with the Ontario cfo for about 2 weeks and still waiting. Should be soon though.

ugh, I mailed my completed application to Miramichi around December 20th and they still havent recieved it. I've been checking daily and even tried calling last week (contrary to what some say, they will still check to see if your application has been received into their system) and they have no record of it. I'm starting to worry that it's been lost in the mail, but am holding out hope that it's just sitting on someones desk waiting to be opened. Still no charges to my CC.
As an aside, does anyone know what they're looking for in the "place of birth" field on the RCMP website for checking the status of your application?? Do they want the city? province? country??

Keeping my fingers crossed something shows up on their website soon, this wait is unreal!

mine was sent in november. it shows being recieved nov 19th shortly after i sent it.

today it was approved after a phone interview.

Ahh I'm so jalous, they received my application 1 week before you and no interviews yet. I called them like 8 time. :(

They are looking for the city. The website is useless anyhow. Every time I have checked over the last 2 months it says "we have received your application and you have been or will be contacted" last time I called it was with the cfo for final approval, but the website doesn't reflect that.

Here's my timeline.

December 10th 2013 – Mailed Application Regular mail
December 17th 2013 – Received by CFC

January 16th 2014 – CC Charged
January 17th 2014 – Called in to ask for status update (hoping to do interview), no luck. Was told to call in next week.
January 20th 2014 – Called in and did interview and was told to advise references to call into to speed up process. Both references called in and status has been updated to “Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. Now to sign up for a range and start :ar15:
