Fabarm Martial Pistola 11" Shotgun NOW IN STOCK at TSE!!

I'm curious what people think of this vs the DA Grizzly 8.5" or Benelli Supernova Tactical 14"

I've owned them all... my opinion only is that the Grizzly is junk. I've had bad experiences with them but only owned 2; will never buy a third. No offense to Grizzly owners. But I agree that they can't be placed in the same group as Benelli and Fabarm.
If I were to go cheap, I'd look at Mossberg; I like them for the weight reduction as well (i.e. aluminum receivers).

The Benelli is nice, but heavier and no choke option at all.
The Fabarm is very light (again, aluminum Receiver) and allows for chokes which is great! No chrome lining though.

Great point in the weight. I held the Grizzly 8.5", found it heavy for the size. I assume it's a steel receiver?

Boom!

Threw on the muzzle brake for fun since I had one laying around:

FYI, I measured folding stock with muzzle brake and it is still a few inches under 26".

What stock is that? That's under 26" with the stock fully extended? Didn't somebody in this thread say the gun is 31" overall?

Yes, steel receiver. The extra weight of the Grizzly does help dampen some of the recoil. Despite the Grizzly being shorter then the Fabarm, it actually has less felt recoil.

that said, I wouldn't trade my 11" Fabarm for anything.

I meant it was under 26" with the Fabarm folding stock (not pictured).

The KNOXX stock is roughly 29" collapsed without muzzle brake.
32" with muzzle brake.

(FYI on the muzzle brake: The set screw can dimple the barrel if overtightened. I'm not a fan of the design so I ordered some proper set screws which will get lightly tightened and secured in place with red-loctite).

Wish they would come out with a 6.5" version that is just over 26" overall length for the Canadian market.

I have the 14" version of this shotgun but I am debating going to a Dlask 6.5" 870 shotgun...

In BC the barrel needs to be 12" and up for hunting otherwise it's considered a handgun.
No grouse hunting here with that pistola.

I've been trying to find a link with that information... do you have one?

I think it's page 3 in the BC hunting synopsis under handguns.

Handgun – is a firearm that is designed,
altered or intended to be aimed and fired by
the action of one hand or that has a barrel less
than 305 mm (12 in.) in length.

A question for Fabarm pump shotgun owners; I have seen photos where the pump looks like it scratches the finish off the receiver when it is brought back. Is this a common problem with these guns? Thanks,

It's the forend.

When you cycle the pump to the rear, it actually partially covers the receiver as well because it is so long.

It's a design inherent to Fabarm, not sure why they do this.

This, and the forend isn't really scratching the reciever; it is more of a rubbing, causing wear marks. Much like holster wear on a pistol. Gives the gun some character. ;)

Thanks for the review krausb,
What are the major differences between the 11'' and the 14''. Besides the 3'' in barrel length, are the sights, receiver, finish etc. the same?
Thanks

It's been a while since i owned a Fabarm... has anyone tried to sand down the inside of the forend to reduce/eliminate the rubbing? Or does the slightest torque while racking make it rub anyway? I know it was never a concern for me...

Yes other than the shorter barrel, everything is virtually identical to the longer Fabarms. There are only two notable differences.

1. The forend is slightly shorter on the Pistols to accommodate the shorter barrel and shorter mag tube. No downside to it at all. it makes for a nice compact forend.

2. "HD" is engraved (or roll marked) on both sides of the receiver. Not sure what it actually means, or why it is in this model and not others... But it looks fine I guess.

Other than that, same ghost ring sights as longer models; same buttstock as others; same threaded barrel and thread cap. Everything else is the same.
