Is anybody aware of a how-to for bolt disassembly / firing pin replacement for a Cooey 39 .22?

I picked one up recently here on EE and I am getting a lot of misfires and it appears firing pin face is tapered/worn and not striking the casing rim properly, only leaving a slight witness mark at times.

Spring seems strong to me so I am thinking it is the firing pin.

its can be an easy job, but not usually. the lil alighnment nub has a tiny pin that goes through the bolt. you have to push it out from the opposite side, look hard there you will see it, it is there. once its pushed out the bolt comes apart

That pin was actually loose before, so I peined the end of it to keep it in place. When I had it out, I could get the bolt apart into 2 pieces, but it was still not clear how to actually remove the firing pin?

The front end of the bolt has a striker that is held in place by a threaded nut (make or borrow the tool) which the striker goes through. Remove that, then the spring. The firing pin is held in place by a blind pin, which will have to be drilled or broken to get the old pin out. Firing pins can be made out of 1/8 drill rod if I remember correctly.

That makes sense. Is there a spec length that the firing pin is supposed to be?

Easiest way will be simply get another bolt. Taking it apart is a royal pain.

Yes sir you are correct lol.

I got the bolt apart into 2 pieces, but I just cannot get the threaded nut to turn.

I tried with a pair of snap ring pliers, no luck. Soaking in kroil right now, hopefully that will loosen it up.
