Ok so last year my dad took a liking to my original Vortex Crossfire scope. It was one of the 6-24, mildot, and illuminated. He threw it onto his hunting rifle and I haven't gotten it back. He told me if I bought him a scope for around $200-250 I could get my scope back since he admitted that 6-24 is too high of magnification for him. So what do people suggest? It's going onto a Remington 700 in 7mm Rem Mag.

for 200-250 bucks I don't think you can get one that will handle the recoil.........how long does it need to last?
I have a old Japanese bushnell 3-9x40 kicking around, for that kind of coin I'll even cover the shipping......

Redfield Revolution 3X9X40 or 2X7X33. Have the 3X9 and it is a decent scope and at the top of the range you are looking at for price. Good warranty.

The Vortex Crossfire originally cost me that and so far it's handled a couple hundred rounds of the 7mm without problems. That's why I want my scope back, they are discontinued and so I just can't go buy another one :D

sounds like you need a add in the EE then............

x2 on the Redfield. I know a number of guys with them, for the price they're a nice scope. The only complaint with them would be the adjustments feel a bit sloppy. That being said they always hold zero, even on a 300 win mag. You could also look at the Burris Fullfield II they get overlooked and are nice as well.
