I went to the Lloydminster Gun Show and was more interested in the reloading items. As it turns out not much for me to buy there, so my wife says buy a gun that you want. Thats all it took. First thing that came to mind was a CZ 452. Now I do have other .22s but from what Ive heard about these rifles there are extremely accurate. I knew i wanted the Varmint model and it didnt take very long for me to find what i was after.

Thanks to Guns and Games out of Stettler they had a variety of CZ rifles on hand. Negotiated the price and the gentleman comes back and says I just happen to have one in the box. I like it when i purchase a firearm that no one else has mauled, just my preference. I get home and unpack my CZ and notice that the stock has an amazing grain pattern. I have no idea if it is common with this brand or i just got lucky.

Looks alot better in the natural light

Congrats on the new cz. They are a blast. You seem to have gotten lucky with the wood. There are some real wood lottery winners out there and some that are more or less blah.

The wood figure on that stock is excellent and you did get lucky. You will enjoy that rifle. My 452 Varmint is an exceptionally accurate shooter.

Mine has some tiger stripes as well. About the best pic I have of one of my 452's

Very nice.
There are a number of suggestions on this site about cleaning properly before shooting.
A .17 Caliber cleaning rod, a bore guide, and get rid of whatever they coat those bores with.
If it takes 100 cleaning patches . . . it will be the best part of the investment.
Enjoy!!!
