Hey Guys, Strongly thinking of getting an M1A Loaded, what's the best option for purchase?? Is it better/cheaper to purchase one from Gunbrooker or Gunsamerica and bring in through someone like IRUNGUNS?? Any advice on what makes it the môst affordable option appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Springfield M1A's are very nice accurate rifles. Loaded, National Match and Super Match are particularly nice.

There awesome ! There have been a bunch in the Ee lately though and also I ru. Guns is bringing in some non Springfield's

Or you can just buy the national match Irunguns.ca has right now. Remember, at least 200 for the item you are shipping (Unless it is straight from irunguns.com, no brokerage fees) Shipping from store to Irunguns, states to canada , canada to your house.

Got myself an M1A Loaded with a stainless barrel a year ago through Elwood Epps. It shoots straighter than me without any issue so far.

One thing you might want to know, Loaded's come with medium weight barrels that prevent you from attaching most forward rails that would fit a Standard. If you don't plan to mount a scope there, go for the medium weight.

If at all possible, buy a used one.
Hopefully the previous owner has worked out the bugs, so you can just enjoy shooting it.

Got my loaded from epps, I like it.

I owned 5 norincos before and sold them all because they had the usuall bugs, I can tell you that I wont sell the springfield.
Those NM barrels are accurate too.

When you get a high end M1A, there is not much bugs to be fix, close to 500 rounds on my NM M1A and yet to find even the littliest bug... JP.

Well , I fired around 250 round and have had 2 failure to fire.
Dont know if it's the rifle or ammo, it was with remington soft point.
Firing pin struck the primer but no bang.

Im ocd about this so I replaced some parts, hammer, hammer plunger/plunger housing/spring and trigger are all gone and replaced by usgi parts.

I am sure it is the ammo, those NM M1A are builded with the best composants availables but like all mecanical stuff, the SHTF can happen... JP.

Decent parts yes, but not the best available no. When their supply of usgi parts dried up years ago they had to start making their own parts, with many contracted out to companies in Taiwan. They are no where near usgi quality. There are other US companies that make higher quality m14 parts than SAI.

That was not my experience, and I don't consider the M1A a 'high end' rifle.

At the very least, a high end rifle is one that the builder test fired before letting it go out the door.

Obviously I am not saying all M1As are bad, but I do recommend that you strip your new rifle
(M1A, Norinco, whatever) break it down, clean & inspect it, grease it up really well before you
fire the first shot. This procedure will reduce the risk of your having problems.
