Anyone have experience with the Norinco HP-9?

The HP9 Norinco shotguns are 870 clones. You can pretty much interchange most parts, chokes excluded. They're about 2lbs heavier than a Remington.

Wolverine has a Mossberg Maverick 88 on sale right now for $259. It ain't a Remmy, but it's probably better than a Norc.

The HP-9 is a great little shotgun. The finish leaves something to be desired, but it is a tank and runs great.

As with any norinco product I want to handle them before I buy, but for $300 you can't go wrong.

I pick it over an express or a maverick any day.

Just scooped a Remington 870 Synthetic Express for $450, delivered & taxes-in.

Can't go wrong for that price.

Bought a HP9 of the EE a couple years ago without a barrel. Sold off the tactical stock that was on it and added Remington wood and a 24" REM choked barrel.

Several hundred rounds through that HP9 receiver and no issues at all.

i have one and convinced me despite the weight im keeping it.

and wont sale it.

it s a 870 clone and working great despite the weather conditions we have here..

I have 2 mossbergs, 1 Wingmaster, an Winchester 1897, a poly clone 1897 and an HP9. The HP9 holds up fine in that company. Not as light as the Mossberg 500s, not as smooth as the wingmaster, but it's still a good shotgun that goes boom when I want it to, and I don't worry about slapping it onto a table, or dumping it into a barrel at a match.

Most of the extra weight is in the stock as it's a solid stock not a hollow one like the Remington's. We sell a lot if collapsing M4 style stocks for them.
