Hey y'all, here's two little winter projects I've been working on, couple pounds of moose jerky and 2 deer hooves racks which turned out way better than I had expected!

Drilled out the bone marrow and made a 90° mold to let them set that way until they were solid. Took them off the molds and let them dry some more until everything is rock solid. I glued 2 1/2" headless bolts in the bone marrow canals to fix them on the plaques that I made with scrap wood. I didn't use anything to preserve the hooves, just took the time to let them dry out properly.

I have seen deer hoof lamps before but never asked how or if they were preserved somehow.

With little to no meat in those areas I can't see much that could rot other than the marrow which you removed.

Keep us up to date if they start getting an odor, I wouldn't mind trying something like this.

Nice job on the racks and jerky. Unfortunately down this way since dec 3rd all I have been doing is trying to find the driveway every couple of days. Winter from hell
