.44 Remington Magnum?

I have a Ruger GP 100 357 mag and a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag . You will notice a difference in recoil , but you can always use 44 Special ammo in the 44 mag. for less recoil if that is your preference . Buy and enjoy....we only live once.....take care...
shouldn't be a problem at all. you can always shoot 44 special too. the 5" 629 is a nice length. I like the 4.2 myself but it gets tiresome after 50 rounds or so. the 5" will be easier to handle. the ruger is nice too

I haven't owned a 357mag revolver for a few years but own(ed) a few 44mag. Can't remember how different the felt recoil is comparably but the 44mag puts a grin on my face every time I pull the trigger.
Yes the round cost more and it really comes down to the size of your wallet. When I want more thrills out comes the 460v.
IMO....keep the 357mag and buy the 460v as your range session closer.

And two 44 special sixguns;
-Colt SAA 7.5 inch blued
-S&W 624
Trust me, you will not be disappointed with a good quality 44 sixgun as long as you handload.
Without handloading, this is a calibre that few could ill afford to shoot often enough to become a half decent shot with it.

Absolutely! I recently purchased that exact gun two weeks ago after having my 357 for only a month or so. The 44 takes a lot more taming and I liken it to KFC, because it will only be brought out occasionally to remind me how bad it was the last time...Enjoy your sport.
The 44 mag is a iconic caliber, the first handgun i bought ( still on layaway) had to be in 44 mag, i bought a Desert Eagle 24 Kt 44 mag to immortalized my like for this caliber, there is a wheel gun in 44 that will join the herd in the next year... JP.
You didn't mention if you reload. If not, the 44 will teach economics as well as recoil management. I have a 44 Ranch Hand and Super Blackhawk, load plinkers and stout loads as required, no 44 special cases needed. As another said, puts a smile on.
