So I am just awaiting my Rpal, so I have been collecting parts until I get my rpal to purchase the lower receiver. So far I got a 15" diamond hand guard, Timney trigger, Magpul ÜBR and MIAD grip. I decided to use the vortex pst 1-4 for this build rather then for my XCR .308. Figured it would suite this build better. Now I'm looking for a 18-20" stainless barrel, JP lighten BCG. Anyone know where I can find this in Canada? What dealer would have it? I'm also really interested in purchasing the VLTOR upper and lower or Noveske or RRA. What do you guys think? Would love to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks

Yeah they are out of stock but I have put myself on their email list when it's back in. Wonder what accurancy is between SS and NON.

you seem to be lining up a high quality build there....an NEA barrel in my view would be a slap in the face to the rest of the components.

Thanks for remarks...
Kind of thought the same for this build, you know where I can find a light SS barrel? Is the Noveske barrels heavy? Seems like the only on I can find...

Noveske barrels are among the best, up there with custom barrels... You can't go wrong getting one, and they are super accurate. I have one on my rifle and it is more accurate then me.

While that may be true of some of the components, that is contrary to popular thought as well as my experience with the barrels.
One doesn't need to spend big money on a Noveski (or any other match grade barrel) for a three gun build, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

For the lower and upper receivers, I'd recommend sticking to a standard forging - they are just cases after all.

Very true, the gun will be thrown around quite a bit. But the I feel the purpose of an SS barrel is that it's better for the heat soak. I'm sure barrels get real hot after rapid fire. Only reason why I bring up Noveske is because it's the only one I see available to really buy in Canada that is an SS barrel. Questar wants stupid money for their SS barrels that they have available but no stock anyway. So far armtac has it in stock at reasonable price. What's the deal with importing a barrel from the states? Anyone did it before?

I don't think heat dissipation is the right reason to get stainless. .. barrels can get hot in 3gun but it is short lived and nothing serious. ...I bought stainless for accuracy

That was one of the benefits I was talking about, the obvious is the accuracy as well.

Keep an eye out for a Daniel Defense MK12 barrel if you can find one. These gems are hammer forged stainless barrels. It will be one of the most accurate and longest lasting barrels you can hopefully soon buy. A hammer forged stainless barrel is a very rare thing.
