Hey guys,

I can't decide between Glock 17 gen 4 and Yavuz 16. I have heard good reviews on Yavuz 16 and i just really like the way it looks but I'm getting really good deal on glock 17 gen 4 and i heard they are really good guns too. Just can't decide. If you had the choice of Yavuz 16 or Glock 17 gen 4 with price not being big deal. What would you choose?

Thanks

I have both. They feel very different in the hand.

The Girsan is heavier (less recoil) and has a better trigger. I clipped 2 coils off the hammer spring and trigger is now 3.5 pounds. Sweet.

If you have large to medium sized hands, the Girsan is a good choice. If you have small hands, the Glock, with adjustable backstrap is better (as is the M&P9).

I absolutely love the way stainless Girsan looks. I have large hands so i think i might go with Girsan. My buddy was convincing me to get glock because he think it's more reliable than Girsan but from the reviews i have read..Girsan are pretty reliable too.

If its just plan plinking the Girsan will have a better trigger in s/a. If you plan on shooting sports like IPSC then Glock.

Of the two, for me, I'd go Glock. Fits me better than the Beretta 92 like grip.

Although, I must say, at the price point, been thinking of scoring a Girsan "just because".

...lol...

NAA.

I have Glock 17gen4 and Beretta 92FS Inox. IMO Beretta/Girsan is a better first gun but some people will say one same trigger pull is better. IMO mastering SA/DA will make you a better shooter.

why do some prefer the girsan over the Beretta? is not the Firsan a knock off after all?

Sorry, but I am a Cashier, and a woman, and did not have the extra $400.00 to spend for a name. And at the time, I had been looking for 2 months, and no one had a 92fs Inox, so I caught wind of the Girsan, did some research, and settled for it. I even had enough left for a Norinco. LOL. Every 1911 our there is a knock off if it's not a Colt, so no biggie. Besides, I choose quantity over quality, because 2 is 1 and 1 is none. Hooah. LOL.

Nothing wrong with a well made copy and you've done well with the Girsan and Norinco. Don't let few naysayers dissuade you. Unless you want to use it as a showpiece nothing wrong with them.

I've had a Girsan and they're excellent. Same factory Beretta used in Turkey. I have a Norinco 1911 and for the money spent I'm loving it.

For fun at the range they're hard to beat.

My 1911 copies are SIGS. They are not made in Turkey or China and do not cost a third or half of a real one.

Well then you are fortunate enough to have a better job then I do. Not everybody drives Cadillacs and Lincolns either, but my 13 year old Chrysler still gets me there, just like my Girsan gets them down range just the same as a Sig.
