Tikka T3 question

Hi Guys,

Quick question about the Tikka T3.

Are all Tikka T3 actions the same on all the models?

From their hunting models, Lite versions and the heavy barrel version?

I am looking into a project for this year and want to use a Tikka T3 action. Upgrade it to a Match barrel.

Yes I believe they are all the same exact long action. I have a hb varmint in .243 that has a long action. They have a block in the mag that makes it the correct size for short action calibres. Sweet smooth action and very accurate though! Nice bike Aprilia Man! Italian bikes are so much fun!

other than stainless/chromoly. phosphatized chromoly, they are the same.

Yep, only other thing that is different besides the mag spacers is the bolt stop is different to limit bolt throw on short action cartridge models.

Still looking more into it and the cost. So far it's looking like it's more cost effective getting the Varmint SS in HB.

Make sure you shoot the factory barrel quite a bit as you might not gain anything by moving up to a custom barrel.

Yeah don't rebarrel it, especially if you're springing for the Varmint model. THe stock barrel on mine is extremely accurate (under .5 MOA without too much reloading effort).
