Rangefinders: Leica vs Vortex Video Review

I appreciate this post, I'm in the market for a long distance Rangefinder. I just put together a .338LM rifle under a S&B 5-25x56 PMII scope and I would like to be able to fairly accurately set up 1KM targets without using a tape measure! I am leaning towards Leica but I am open to hearing experienced users suggestions. Money not being an object...
I have lieca geovids my buddy has the Swarovski another buddy with the lieca 1600 , that said I purchased a terrapin last year and we all agree there is no comparison between any other R/F we own or have used. We have ranged single a single cow at over 1200 yards with no problem and last time out we ranged a rock face (mountain) at over 3200 yards.

I have a leica 1600 and it will range to 1250 meters on a pickup no problem even on a fairly bright day. I would not want a different range finder.

Not even one that co-witnessed with your rifle scope? :D

Actually that Raptar unit on top is crazy light. It looks like a brick, but sure doesn't feel like it.

Wilcox Raptar: 2.85 g (10.0 oz) with battery

Leica 1600B: 180 g / 7.8 oz with battery

My problem with Leica's at extreme distance is keeping them steady. Sure the monocular can reach 1600 yards, but at that distance, I really don't know what part of the red square I'm lazing with, and the target is nigh on invisible at 6x power.

This rifle mounted beast definitely isn't for everyone, but I can see a legitimate application for it. With the crosshair matched to the rangefinder laser, the rifle has a lot more magnification and is much steadier than me holding a monocular.
