No More Springfields

I've had a Springfield Armory 1911 .45ACP on order for quite some time from site sponsor Wolverine Supplies. BTW great business to deal with!!!

Anyway, I received a call from them today that my back-order has been cancelled because Springfield is no longer shipping to Canada.

If you are lucky enough to have one, hang onto it!

Yep, thanks to IRG we are no longer at the mercy of Canadian distributors, I've purchased 2 pistols through IRG that I was told would take a year to get here in Canada.

We getr our Springfields from the USA exporter for Springfield. They do all the international stuff for Springfield now as far as I know. They will also be doing any warranty work and the papers to get to firearm down and back on ITAR expemtion.

Your money isn't as easy as someone else's south of the border so don't take it personally. Springfield Armory 1911's are a hot commodity, they basically can't keep up with demand. And in the case of the (discontinued) lower end model like the GI, they saw more opportunity in putting effort into the models above it. Its a business, you can't fault them for that. If our Canadian market ends up feeling a lack of new SA products, either it sucks to be a consumer, or you pony up to pay the bill for an 3rd party inflated price.

I have had three business transactions with IRG and they are always top notch, professional and by far the best shipping packaging available, almost hermetically sealed and it takes a while to un-package a firearm in fact. "Seems" sounds like a term one might use when they are guessing? Do you have any personal experience with IRG?
