I have a savage hog hunter 308 that I plan on using for range shooting and hunting and I'm looking at possibly getting a stock or chassis for it.
Main reason is that I really dislike traditional style stocks. I think the classic handhold doesn't really fit your hand properly, the length of pull is always iffy, especially for tall guys like me and I haven't seen a single rifle who's cheek weld is high enough for optics...... that being said, Im looking for a stock that has:
Adjustable cheek.... worse case Ill do it myself
Adjustable butt
Either an AR type pistol grip, or a well thought out thumb hole (ex not a Boyds)
A way to have detachable mags (AI or something similar..... even savage mags are fine)
Lightweight
Folding
INEXPENSIVE!!!
I understand that to be quite a tall order. Closest thing Ive come across was a the Rhineland Leopard stock.... except that's only for Remington actions. And I would probably remove some material around the fore end and butt to save on weight and make it more streamline.
Also looked at a McCree Precision with the AR butt.... so far that's my best option
Any advice is welcomed.
