Norinco T97NSR WANSTALL , great rifle , Some pics for the great look

I just don't get it, thanks gun store; for selling me something at regular price, that I have to wait for in line at the store or find out its out of stock days later online. Thanks for not being able to service what I bought or offering me any other alternative. It doesn't matter how much I spend or how patient I am I alway feel like I just got screwed. We need to have a DAILY DEALS thread, so we can all take advantage of the savings, not just on BOXING DAY, oh sorry out of stock. Bla

looks great, to bad there is no way to mount the optics any lower on it tho

Yes.
Forgive my messy desk.

So who has trouble stripping the gun down with that top rail?

It's no big deal actually. You can do a routine cleaning w/out removing it. Even if you do, it appears to maintain a decent zero when reinstalled.

The bigger issue is height-over-bore. You really have to know your hold-overs if transitioning from, say, 25 yards to 100 yards. Then again, I'm not doing bull's eye shooting. If you are shooting 8" plates out at 75 to 100 yards, it's not too tough.

Oh, and I have no concern about my head being a big target when shooting from a trench (as one poster mentioned) as, uhm, that never actually happens...

Everytime i see the m14 FTU i have to convince myself not to buy a T97. They look great and fix the heigt issues

I kind of had to convince myself at first to get it. After using it, I would never look back.
It allows the use of magnified optics on the Type97, looks great, holds zero and is all made in Canada.

When m14.ca releases the lower, the T97 will be a serious competitor to people considering the Tavor, as it will offer all the same functionality while still being ~1k$ less.

That sight just looks wrong. Will Stick with irons till finally give in for the FTU; just a matter of time, resistance is futile.

+1, Almost had ze melon blown right off last time the paper returned fire
That sight setup is high. For defensive shooting from a trench, your melon would be a big target...
