I hadn't seen a setup like this yet. If one has already been posted somewhere, i guess I just missed it.

Obviously a T97 with the T97.ca FTU installed. Im using a JP 30mm one piece scope mount and Bushnell AR-556 1-4 scope. I started with a Burris PEPR mount but the nuts that clamp it onto the rail stick out too far and your hand hits them when operating the charging handle. The JP mount has flush screws so there is no interference.

Cheek weld is perfect, ergs for this setup are actually better than my Tavor with a similar setup. Of course, I'm not trying to say this makes it better than a Tavor, I'm just saying that actual optics placement and cheek weld IS better IMO.

Looking forward to the T97.ca lower thats in the works. Though I'm not at all unhappy with the ergs or lower on this gun as it is, the T97.ca part sure does look cool and theyre saying it will come with some other new parts that will improve the gun further. And, all for less than half of what a Tavor would cost new.

How about a set a good flip up front and rear sight, any idea which one work best. I like the idea of full rail, easy to scope but always like to have a set of back up sight, just in case the scope fail for some reason.

It will be cheaper, but it won't be less then half. 1150 + 330 + ### for lower, if the lower is say another 330$ which my guess is it will cost more then the upper with all the changes to erg's then you will be at about 2000$ after taxes. If the lower costs more then the upper, it will be pushing into used Tavor territory.

The changes from the upper and lower does make it alot better looking though.

I'm glad you like yours so much, I just bought a T97 with the FTU off the EE. I'm fairly excited about it showing up.

Waiting for my FTU to show up any day now. Plan on mounting my leupold AR scope for the .223 round. Hope my conversion turns out as nice as yours

Gotta compare apples to apples though. My used T97 with FTU installed was $1100, Im assuming the lower will be about $300 if I early order (this was hinted at in the thread) so ill be in for around $1400 total. Most used Tavors sell for $2500-2700... so its not less than half. But its in the neighbourhood of $1100-1300 less. Thats alot of ammo. Lol. Tavor is still a better gun IMO. But, once the aftermarket gets the mag release and safety sorted out the T97 will be a VERY close second IMO.

Looking good pavementsurfer!!! The FTU is a massive upgrade to this rifle! Looks like the lower is going to be even better.

I was running a trs-25. But wanted some magnification. So I picked up a hi-lux cmr 1-4x. It came with a pepr mount. Cheek weld was fine. But I wanted to try to decrease the HOB so I mounted it in low rings. Haven't had a chance to zero it and try it at different distances yet

I felt the same way. Until I got the FTU on there! You won't miss the carry handle

Not the carry handle im Worried about its hack sawing off the front sight what happens if they never import another t97 and were left with the 2000 that in Canada hack sawing parts off your gun is terrible for the resale of any collectors item

I don't think we have to worry about a Norc becoming a collector's item anytime soon ;) I can't see it hurting the resale. I wouldn't want one without the FTU now that I have it.
