I like the mosquito, but I've heard some bad things about jamming. anyone have one? they look so much nicer than the browning and ruger but that doesn't help if it doesn't work. Anyone have anything for sale in a semi auto 22 pistol? Thanks

Hi. Decide on your budget first. And what you'll be doing with it. A .22 used for shooting for fun isn't the same as one used for formal target shooting. No matter which you opt for, you'll have to try a box of as many brands of ammo as you can to find the ammo that both shoots well and cycles the action of a pistol. The price of said ammo means nothing either.
Suggest you pop over to the Pistols and Revolvers forum too. There are lots of 'What should I buy?" questions there.

I'm a huge fan of the Ruger Mk II if you can find yourself a used one. I've owned mine for a few years now and have nothing but love for it. Also, a while back I got to try my friends Buckmark and was quite impressed by it. It was light and accurate. Not my favourite for my fat hands but it certainly played nice.

Ruger I, II and III Brownings are great guns to We forget about the High Standard which where great guns to. If you do your search . Great reviews you can some times find a good deal on them. SHT i pick up a margolin Vostok for 270 bucks. The mag is 8 rnds but it shoots great It's all about what you want to shoot. 22lr is a hit a miss FTF and FTE before you bash the gun try several kinds of ammo , I had a 2206 S&W that would eat the cheap 333 pack but hiccup on the good Federal stuff Go figure I took my 10/22 and MKIII to eat the Federal up It comes down to what you want to spend on a gun . You are doing the best thing buy a 22 you will spend more time at the club with out breaking the bank and have fun

I don't think you need any more advice than has been given here. The ruger mk 11 or 111 are awesome pistols, they are well built eat a variety of ammo and are more accurate than most shooters who shoot them. The buckmark is darn near equally as good.

the mosquito carries a good name SIG, but that is as far as the good goes on that pistol. They are not good pistols. period. Inaccurate, poorly built, and do come apart. don't buy a mosquito, you will not be happy with it.

I don't shoot the Ruger's but I can tell You if I didn't have what I have, its the 22 pistol I WOULD use.

Ruger MKIII Hunter is a ###y, ###y gun, yet heavy. 22/45 Lite is just so, but I feel my Hunter has better overall balance.

They are both total bastards to tear down, at least until you have done it a few times ... then it just becomes tedious. Must also ditch the magazine safety.

Love 'em both, yet my vote would be for a GSG 1911, especially when treated to a Dlask trigger job.
