My 300 AAC Blackout Build

A few sponsors carry some like Wanstalls, Wolverine and Budget from my research. The problem is they cost a pretty penny, around $30/20rnds. If I didn't reload, I'd have made a 223 build instead.

Seems not one store in Canada has the Remington .300blk ammo. Pretty sad really, unless this changes then this .300blk will be just a novelty round for reloaders to play with.
I dont reload and dont want too, too bad as this looks like a perfect medium range cartridge.

Wolverine carries 125gr Remington Blackout.
 
Call P&D in Edmonton. I haven't bought it for a while but they used to have the Rem/UMC 115gr loads for under $20/box. They also have the Hornady 208gr whisper loads but they don't cycle my rifle.

Let us know how it works out. I don't think it will be any good unless all you shoot is hot supersonic, it's a very gentle recoiling round and if anything a lighter buffer might help out with getting more of the heavier rounds to cycle properly.

Spikes T2 buffer works with subs and supers.

Cycled 150gr supers and 210gr subs with no issues.

Might just be me, but cycling of bcg seems smoother than the standard buffer.

So you've called every store in Canada? Very impressive. Funny thing is that the stores in Edmonton always seem to have it. I never buy it since I reload and prefer the performance of my loads over the factory stuff.
300 whisper has been around for years and it is pretty much identical to 300BLK, it's no novelty and it isn't going anywhere. We've heard from numerous sources that the retailers have been told we should be seeing bulk 300BLACKOUT on the shelves this summer.
 
Found you, been trolling around looking for people with experience with the 300 black out and you answered my question. Just was curious about recoil and how round worked. Name of store in Edmonton?

Careful trolling will get you an infraction.

P&D usually has it and Milarm told me about the bulk 300BLK this summer.
P&D has a couple 300BLK fans working there so they try to make sure it's always in stock.

I also found out that swearing at and calling a troll names will get you an infraction ;)

Wholesale sports doesn't have it on their web page but if you go in they have supers and subs. I've seen them in mass supply at the Saskatoon and grande prairie one. Leads me to believe its a standard stocked item now.
 
Fiocchi is suppose to release 124gr ammo this spring and Magtech(brass cased) is filling an order in the USA of 20million rounds. Which I'm sure will trickle up here.

The only reasonably priced .300blk was the 115g Remington stuff at around $14-$16 a box of 20. All the other .300blk/whisper is around $30 a box of 20 which is way too much for range fun sessions, for me anyway.

The Remington closed the factory line for retooling of their cheaper .300blk. If this round cant be bought in bulk for around .50 cents a round then it will never be a big deal for range plinkers. Fingers crossed for the summer my supply is getting real low :(
