So I have the 12.5" grizzly on the way from Canada ammo and I want to put a folder on it. I bought it for a short compact truck gun for the bush. I would have bought the 8.5" but I didn't like how easy my thumb could end up in front of the barrel.

Anyway, I know folders are supposed to suck but I want to give it a try. So does anyone know of a folder that can be put on and still have a 26+ OAL? Preferably something I could still get a cheek weld on. Pictures would be awesome if you got them.

You are going to have a rough time with a folder, you should look into collapsable... the SAGE one on the EE might fit the bill.

Folder on a 12.5" would make it under 26" OAL :( I've tried a few on mine, just go with a standard stock or telescoping stock or a short length of pull hogue.

Think about what you are asking.

Not possible to maintain 26 inches if you fold the gun in half...

Seems pretty obvious that it is not gonna work, but you will find that the gun is very short as is.

No need for a folder IMHO.

I thought about going with the hogue but I'm 6'2 and long arms so even with the adjustable stock I have to have it fully extended to be comfortable

Well it's not folding it in half, there's the barrel, action and grip in front still but maybe when I get it I'll find its short enough. Awhile back someone on here posted a pic of a 12.5 with a folding stock and said he had to take it off because it was 25.5 OAL...I thought maybe I could mod it so it stayed over 26 when folded

I am halfway done my folder grizzly mag, unfortunately I am waiting on an answer from the CFC, and another thread on exact OAL legalities.

here it is so far:

The pictured gun is Perfectly legal. Why wouldn't it be?

The extended (not) mag tube is retarded though.... What's the point, the grizzly wasn't heavy enough?

Try tacking on an extended choke. It doesn't count for barrel length but it does count for OAL. My extended turkey choke (Remington) adds .990".

Yes this shotgun is legal it has an 18" on it now. my goal is to buy a 16" barrel thus making it 26.1" long when folded.

My original question was if I bought a 14" barrel, and added a 2" breaching choke/ muzzle device would it still count as 26".

And as for the tube extension, it helps support the barrel shroud, and my plan is to bore out the end and insert a surefire flashlight.

Not to mention that it looked a bit funny without the extension.

It is stupid heavy, but balances nice, and the recoil is very tame.
