So Ryan, you closed the thread on tannerite before I could post a reply to all those people who thought tannerite was the same as fireworks and was A-OK to have and use.
Tannerite is a Class 3 nitro compound explosive, and heavily regulated.
Fireworks are considered a Class 5 explosive and much easier to acquire.

Another company in Canada has just announced they will be getting the full line of Firebird Reactive Targets.

Large quantities of tannerite may be illegal for the average Joe, but I haven't seen any rules saying you can't have "fireworks" that contain tannerite.

Are you still looking into getting raw tannerite, or are you considering getting pre-made targets?
If so, better lube up the bearings on your tape rollers, because you're gonna be shipping a lot of boxes!

I don't think tannerite would ship as dangerous cargo but I believe "fireworks" would have to be... I could be completely out to lunch though

The independent ingredients of tannerite are not dangerous or controlled until they're combined. I am not familiar with the all the TDG regs for different classes of explosives either. My friend with the CBSA was going over the explosives act last night when I showed him the tannerite thread. If you thought the firearms act was large and complicated, it is dwarfed by the regulations for explosives! It is a huge document...

As much as I doubt we'll be allowed to buy bulk tannerite, it would be awesome if we could at least buy some form of reactive, explosive target.
If said targets end up costing more than $5 each, I'll just keep on using those little propane bottles you can get at any hardware store!

I'm going to lock this. I only started the other thread to see if the interested I expected there to be was there.

Ryan
