It was a great morning out, if a little cold! Got a great chance to shoot other peoples' firearms Rob Anders and Melissa Mathieson are both pro gun - Melissa is going to be standing for High River - check out her platform on firearms at http://www.electmathieson.ca/firearms/
Any bruises after the shoot? Or is that too personal.
I remember my first encounter with a SKS left me with a few bruises.
No pads and no recoil protection.
The rifle you see in the picture was a 408 CheyTac - and there was a *little* recoil with that, no bruises I also got to try a couple of 303 Lee-Enfields and a Remington .300 Win Mag. My SKS and Ruger 10/22 didn't get unracked!
Thanks, Abbynormal. I hope you realise that I was just doing my civic duty by going out on a Sunday and shooting some rifles. And I work in an industry that I can claim my ammo on expenses. It's a hard life!!
Seriously, though - it was a great opportunity to go out and get some politicians understanding the sport - maybe there is hope!
Steve had Anderson Arms build that off a Barnard P action with a Krieger 1.25" barrel out to 30" in an XLR Chassis. Chambered in .408 Cheytac, also known as $5 bills (not everyone gets to expense their ammo. I think everyone had a blast shooting it...no pun intended. 400gr solids at 3000fps!
