Talk me out of a S&W .460

Its expensive, expensive to shoot, not easy to find ammo, if your range is indoors it will suck shooting it for you and everyone around you, can't shoot animals with it, and its still not as powerful as most hunting rifles....lol
 
All the reasons above make it worth every penny....

I believe S&W .460 and 500 models primarily were made for hunting (US market). personally I like Ruger GP100 in 357 MAG.
 
Those are all the reasons I haven't bought one yet either....... But with that being said I want a 460 and 500.

Just like an exotic car.... Costs a mint and our environment limits its use... Why buy one? They are bad ass and I didn't have one..

I totally agree....but bought one anyways. Makes my other revolvers feel like toys....

Excellent and very versatile firearm!

It shoots three calibres:
- 460 S&W
- 454 Casull
- 45 Colt (Long Colt).

If you are looking for large revolver, this is one of the best ever made.

Can't talk you out of it. It is the best grin maker at the range. Totally worth it's weight, though mine is a 500.:cheers:

Why not? It can be taken to a free (er) country to the south and used for just such a task.
 
Reading the reviews about it's accuracy, and point of aim trajectory out to 250m, I'm thinking this would be a TON of fun for metallic silhouette. It's supposed to be better on recoil than the 44mag too!

It's also not much more than a Taurus in .454 but it's certainly a better gun.

Hmm... Maybe I need to hold one...
 
Can't beat a 460, I love mine, OP is in Ontario so he/she won't have to much trouble finding ammo for it. I also have a Raging Bull in 454 Casull, just as much fun, just not as big of a bang.

They are both great to shoot, the 460 really starts to kick when you get above the 300 grain bullet weight. As for how they feel, the Raging Bull has the most comfortable grip of any revolver IMHO, I would put that grip on every gun I own if I could.
