I'm a newbie at this. Can you guys suggest on the ammo manufacturer / grain for 9mm for my new M&P 9??? Also, where's the best place to get a decent price? In the GTA area?

Thanks.

Cheapest one I can find is what my guns get. Run few different brands through CZ and Glock and never had an issue. Competing and practicing for ipsc matches tends to eat lots of ammo so cost adds up.

As far as stores go start checking up. Al Flaherty's comes to mind first and you can go from there. They had some good sales on ammo through summer.

I've got the 40, it digests any jacketed bullet I throw in it. 9mm version probably won't be much different. I've run many rounds of American Eagle and both Blaser Brass and Aluminum cased through it. They can be had at a decent cost. Now for the reloads....

My m&p 9 is the same. Ae, blazer, rem, s&b all run through without a problem.

Don't worry so much about the brand, different grains will have different recoil feel, play around with a few different ones, and find out which one YOU like shooting better. Your gun can handle them all just fine.

Whatever is cheap. Winchester White box (about 25cents a round in the 100rd bulk boxes) shoot fine. I have put about 3000 rds of it through my M&P9 with only a handfull of failures (a couple light primers strikes). I have put a bunch of 147gr Federal, as well as about a 1000 of both Blazer brass and Blazer aluminium without issue. Honestly, they all shoot fine, but I prefer 147gr Federal if I had my choice. If that's cheap, I will buy it. Some guys like 124gr, but I like 147.

Before I started reloading, I would shoot anything cheap in 124gr. I'm no precision shooter with a handgun so I'm not looking to shave 1/2" off my groups. :p
