The Benelli M4 Thread

i think my M4 is a pretty dialled in set up. it's got some very rare parts. but I'm thinking of selling it because i want to fund a very expensive rifle purchase.

Suggestion = don't bother with one. :) Unless you have short arms and the collapseable stock... then the 'middle' position is PERFECT cheekweld height for a low reddot.

Just fitted my standard stock last night... was going RSA but i think I'm keeping irons only.

At the recommendation of several people, I decided on the 4 MOA Aimpoint T-1. Definitely the right scope for the job! Sits nice and low and easy to follow, even at my height (6'3") with the stock fully extended.

is there a difference I capacity between the 14" and 18.5" models? or do they both take 5 3" shells

They both take 4x3 inch shells as standard. The 18.5 can hold more with aftermarket parts.
Plus an extra one on the shell carrier. And one in the chamber.
So you can get it to hold 7 x 3 inch shells or 8 x 2 3/4 ones in total. The 14 inch is already maxed out.

Are all the collapsible stocks now 3 position? I was looking at one today with a fixed stock and it seemed a little long for me so if I'm going to get one its going to have to have an adjustable. Also anybody know anything about the 6 position stock from ATI? I like the idea of a little more adjustability.

I'm still sitting on the fence on one of these;

On one hand I know I'd like it, but on the other, its a lot of money to pay for a shotgun and I want to be sure that's what I really want before I buy.

Three positions, yes. The longest one lines your eye up perfect to use the irons. The middle one lines you up slightly higher and is great for an optic but I find it is uncomfortable for the irons. The shortest position lets you fit the gun into your pelican case. :D
