The Benelli M4 Thread

Got my jumbo charging handle, so much nicer now

I tried a friend's collapsible M4 out last week. I am making room in the safe as we speak. Now I just need to find one at a fair price and I am in !

Any leads to an m4 for sale at a reasonable price would be appreciated. Checked EE and looks like many want what they got into them and more.

Hi everyone!
I went to shot my M4 today with light load or target load and occurred FTF and FTE. It shoot flawless again once I use slug again. I have my M4 for 2 years and shoot flawless with all kind of slug, 3" magnum, regular load buckshot but target load I shot today.
Does it happen to anyone before?

I'm still sitting on the fence on one of these;

On one hand I know I'd like it, but on the other, its a lot of money to pay for a shotgun and I want to be sure that's what I really want before I buy.

Get off off the fence and treat yourself to one of the finest (if not the finest) semi auto tactical shottys on the planet.

Inexpensive target loads are notorious for swelling.p in the chamber. I've had some almost lock up the action on my 870 pump.

I thought the gun failed, just had to get a little violent with it to get it to retract and eject.

Both my M4s have had FTE when shooting bird shot when the guns were brand new. Slugs and buckshot never a problem. This of course only occurs for the first couple of hundred rounds then it cycles everything flawlessly.

Yours is a couple years old now and shoots slugs flawlessly. Seems odd.

Thanks for the advice. I believe my M4 haven't been broken in and cause the FTF/ FTE with the weak load.
I have my M4 for two years but seldom use it. It has less than 100 rounds slug and buckshot through the pipe since new. I know it is my bad. I love shooting it with slug and it is as accurate as my other rifle. This is my second shotgun in my life and my first one is KSG.
I will never part with it and will stay with me the end of my day.
Btw, how often do you guys clean your M4? I clean mine after every range season.

Ok so your’s being a couple of years old but barely fired = a new gun. Fire a couple hundred more slugs through it and then it should cycle pretty much every birdshot load with no issues.

Personally I clean all my guns after the every shooting session, except my long-range precision rifles which I clean every few hundred rounds or more. They seem to shoot more accurately that way.

I had my Benelli M4 pistons coated with NP3 from Robar in the US, as I was absolutely fed up with scraping off the carbon after every shooting session :D

I really want some of my firearm coat with NP3. Can you tell me how to process? Send part down of the whole gun?

Thanks!

I took the pistons out and sent them down to be coated. According to Robar, the factory M4 pistons are chromed, so they have to chemically remove it and re-coat them in NP3. The price is $24 for the stripping and $50 for the NP3 (or $65 for NP3 Plus). I also have a mint Sig P228 fully coated in NP3 :D

My only gripe with the M4 used to be the stock...not the length, but the pistol grip part. As a lefty I always find it tough to manipulate the safety. Yes, I know I can reverse it - but since I've grown up with the RH safety on all my other shotguns, I don't want to change it.

The straight/standard stock is FANTASTIC. And only $210 from Brownells... makes the best shotgun in the world even BETTER. Anyone know what the collapsing stock is worth in Canada these days? I'd sell it on the EE but have no idea what it's 'worth' to someone with the fixed pistol grip stock. And do ALL M4's have the same stock tube - already set up for the collapsable one?

about $200
least that's what I would offer you if you want to sell it
bbb

Hmmmm. Been drooling for some years now. Having issues spending $2200 on one firearm that I have little use for. Is it ludicrous to grouse hunt and skeet shoot with it? ;)
