Hornady #30 shell plate in Canada?

I've done some searching but I have been unable to find a source for a Hornady #30 .44 mag shell plate in Canada. Somebody must sell these. Any leads appreciated.

Try Shooter's Choice in Waterloo. They list shell plates($41.95) as being something they keep in stock. Odd to think anything for a .44 mag would be hard to find.

If you do decide to try shooters choice, Make sure you specify that your looking for a LNL shellplate. Or they will try to sell you one for a projector. A guy I spoke to on the the phone said "yea, we have lots of #5 hornady shell-plates instock." So I made the drive to Waterloo to find that they were "projector" style without the cut-out for the ezject. I don't think he knew the difference.

^ Yup, make sure it is LNL and not Projector unless you have a milling machine. Made that mistake with my 50 S&W plates, had to bubba grind out the cut out.




Recently having major problems with my 44 plate. The brass is getting caught up in the ezject tab causing major jam up. The tab may be worn out leaving just enough for the brass to ride up onto the tab. Need to call Hornady support.

Nope. Don't have it.
I was also told by Wholesale that its an unusual calibre and they can't even get one.
Surely it can't be this hard to load .44 magnum.
The search continues....

Got one at Ellwood Epps.
Now I need to find one for .45 ACP. I find it weird that the dealers who sell these Hornady presses don't have a real selection of shell plates. Maybe I will give Epps another call tomorrow.

Have you tried P&D Enterprises? They had a #30 last week, and usually have a number of plates. I also saw a #30 in Bass Pro Calgary yesterday.
