I've been searching for the old grips for the Ruger GP100 that look like rubber with a wood insert, but they seem to be non-existent in Canada.. Does anyone have ANY idea on where I might find them? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Not to jump on your thread but i had a set of the original grip and i now have a wood hogue grip.
Personally i thought the wood insert model looked really great on my 4.2" stainless and really absorbed the recoil....one thing i did find and it may be just me is that i would get a few flyers every now and then that i wouldnt get with the hogues. What i found is that the grip being made of soft rubber would flex every now and then and throw my shot off.
You can feel the flex by grasping tightly and moving the frame in an oposing direction. For me there was no real difference with IDPA but there was long range target shooting.

I picked up this 4" from a friend a couple of years ago, primarily because it is virtually as new and the price was decent. I thought it was time for one as I've never had a double sction Ruger before.

The grips do more than look like rubber. They are rubber. Last I heard, on a U.S. forum, Ruger's supplier quit making 'em. You could try Western Gun Parts and/or haunt the gun shows.
E-Bay finacially supports the people who want to take your firearms away from you. Buying or selling anything there gives 'em the money to do so.

Try Chigs Grips ( chigsgrips.com ) He has the rubber grip itself for $15 and custom wood inserts for $20-30. Shipping to BC for my grips was $3 and they are awesome. I am very happy with the finish and look!
