My wife and I went to the Phoenix pistol range today and fired our pistols for the first time ever, she with her Sig Sauer Mosquito and me with my Polish TT-33.

My wife had someone beside her with a shotgun so she was shaken up by the noise as first (it was her first time in a indoor shooting range), but she really enjoyed her first shooting experience and wants to go again next week. Her Mosquito only had two FTFs out of 35 rounds, first two rounds actually, but the rest it ran perfectly fine.

For me I had about 5 or 6 FTFs out of 50 rounds, and the recoil was a bit to get used to. The noise of the shotgun was distracting for me as well. I was just aiming at the paper target and getting used to shooting a pistol.

It was a lot of fun for the both of us!
 
Excellent results! If your wife is able to shoot that well with a 12 gauge being fired inside right beside her she has serious skillz.:)

Congrats to you and your wife! Are you sure that you didn't switch ownership of those targets? :nest: In all seriousness, congrats. It may be time to buy a shotgun.
 
Great that you guys got out to the range today. They shouldn't allow shotguns in the pistol range. They should make them use the rifle range instead IMO.
 
Thanks everyone! We both got our memory wounds as well. My wife caught her little finger in the slide and got a blood blister and I gripped my gun wrong and got skinned by the hammer. My wife was so nervous about going but at the end she said she felt empowered by the experience. I need to either get used to the recoil or pick up a 22lr and get used to pistol shooting that way before going back to my Tokarev.
 
Nice. Im jealous. Trying to get my wife out but she is not keen and kinda anti gun. she say she may be tempted if I bought her a pink gun... I may have to bite the bullet
Funny thing is I am sure she will out shoot me. She already kick my butt in golf and tennis. I'm sure once she finds another activity she can beat me at she'll love it

For sure, get her out to the range, she'll probably out shoot you, (mine does) But when she feels on top it's a lot easier to make her understand when you want to blow two grand on a new gun!
