Finally got out to the range with my Browning lever that I got on the EE and all I can say is I should have bought one a long, long time ago. Extremely fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate. I had no trouble shooting 2ish inch groups at 25yds freehand. The only negatives are the stock is a little short and with my bi-focals I have a hard time seeing both sights. I'll make a spacer for the stock and I'll have to scour the EE for a low power scope that will suit the gun. While I like the looks of my 10/22 with the Marauder stock and it is fun to shoot too I highly recommend a lever 22. TC

I would suggest better sights, ghost rings or peeps, rather than a scope. Somehow a scope doesnt look right on a lever action. Agree with you on the lever action fun part. There is something about a lever action that just feels right.

One of my favorites......(.22mag)

I love lever-action. Maybe it's the "cowboy" thing, maybe it's something else. I don't know.

I've got my eyes on an 1895GS in 45-70 for the kick and maybe a BL22 for the econo-fun....

Another Lever Lover here. And yes, a lever rifle is likely one of THE FINEST plinking guns made. A match or very close second is a pump action rifle.

I agree with you however in the case of this particular Browning it's not drilled and tapped anywhere to allow mounting a peep unless there is a Lyman style tang peep available. Even then holes would have to be drilled in the wood as it doesn't have a metal tang. TC

Have a look at Skinner's for peeps. They have both a receiver mount and barrel mount option.
Yes, levers are fun to shoot. I'll get another one day....

I agree with you 100% I started with a Henry then moved up to a bl22 and just this morning I scored a 9422 in really nice shape can't wait to shoot it!

I don't see a move from Henry to Browning as "UP", unless you mean in price... I have four Henry rimfire lever action rifles, two BL-22's, a 94/22 and a Mountie... there is a reason that I have mostly Henry's... because I actually shoot them... but I do enjoy them all... many think of semi-actions as the "fun" gun, but lever action fans know better.

My current lever action is a Marlin 39M and is my 3rd 39.
All have been very reliable and accurate.
The first Mountie would keep 10 rounds of MiniMags under an inch at 50 meters.
The current one was being tested with various brands, and shot two 5 shot groups at 100 yards around 1.5 inches with CCI Select with a Sightron 3-9 scope.
As with most 22's, testing various brands has benefits as most will always show preferences.
With the scope off and open sights it is a fun gun in Speed Steel Cowboy Production. On the down side, the scope base also has to come off to access the sights.

Another Henry fan here, actually sold my Browning BL22 and kept the Henry H001. I have Skinner sights on mine and would highly recommend them. They ship to Canada so no issues getting them here, just deal with them directly. Andy is awesome with communication as well.

I will admit that I preferred shooting the Henry I'm not a big fan of Brownings short lever throw but if your not shooting your other levers because your scared to hurt them then they aren't in the same category.

I'm afraid that you missed the point... I am not "scared to hurt" my other lever action rimfires... I have been shooting them for 40+ years... they don't get shot as much as my Henry's these days because the Henry's are just such sweet shooting rifles.
