just takes a spring swap to get the non accutrigger version to a very acceptable trigger. Not sure I'd pay any extra for this version....hopefully its at or close to the same price.

Everything.

lol talk about avoiding the question...

Actually the accutrigger is a nice feature. I own a savage without and two with. The accutrigger is the way to go. As for some guys saying it needs to be changed (usually at a cost of $100 to $150 dollars) just because it comes stock is just plain stupid and considering the price point of these rifles a person would be hard pressed to find something better in that price range.

Doesn't matter if the accutrigger is on a $1000 savage its still a crappy trigger. Mine malfunctions almost every time you try to shoot it if you don't pull straight on and straight back on it. Plus if its bumped with the safety on and when you take it off safe it fires.

I'm not a accutrigger fan either. Just don't like the feel. That's the only reason. I have non accutrigger axis on its way to me. For the wife.

You might want to have Savage look at that. Out of the dozen or so Savage rifles I own with Accutriggers, not one has a problem. The only problem I had with the accutrigger was turning it down really low (1lb or below).

Every accutrigger I have used will misfire

Wow you have really bad luck with them. You're not adjusting them to 1lb or less are you?

I found the Accutrigger to be a really nice trigger system. I found out if you turn it to below 1lb and try to work the bolt too fast and/or too hard, the trigger will actually lockup and engage it's own little "safety" until you rework the bolt a lot slower. This is to prevent accidental firing with the light trigger.
