I'll stand by the Bulgarian (Not Russian) ammo is not very clean nor accurate in my rifles.
Then again, this is military stuff, I used a chrony on norinco 5.56mm a number of years ago. One box of twenty ranged 600 ft/sec between rounds.
Weighing the surplus 7.62x54r (Bulgarian) bullets I pulled ranged in weight 3-4gr. Your not going to get very good accuracy in that with a bolt action, let alone a surplus semi auto. The powder seemed some what consistent.
If you want to throw bullets down range, use what ever you like. I'll burn up the surplus in the svts and reload for the mosin's for more accuracy.
