A German Long range rig...

It i a proven load in my rifle (125 times), now, i will start lower with the Sig, working my way to the max, plus this is documented how R-17 and 208 Amax can be pushed to those speed, R-17 is a one of a kind powder for extra velocity with heavy bullets in the 308... JP.

In YOUR rifle. Its way over book value and what quickload recommends. Think about it, before you get some rookie blow up.

I dont recomend to use this load as is, it must be work out slowly by .01 increments looking for signs, like cratering primer, marks or hard extraction, on my takedown those # were obtained safely with slow devellopment... On the Sig, devellopment could stop at 48 gr if i get pressure signs and i will stop there, i am an experienced reloader and i go for the possibility of improving to the max BUT I AM ALWAYS AWARE OF ANY SIGNS THAT COULD BE PRESENTS, Carefull trial and error lead to great reloads by judging by actual signs more than reading a # in book and called it from there...
R-17 and heavies is an duo that benefit a lot of trial and error devellopment as it bring the 308 to an interely new level.... JP.

I think once in a while people need to think for themselves and not rely on the forums as a reloading manual baseline anyways. JP is simply making a statement as to what he and his rifle and experience have accomplished. If some guy simply sees this on here and decides to start there and gets hurt, he has simply ignored every other published warning out there. Likely nothing you or anyone else could have done to prevent that from happening, especially warning him again.......

Well said ! Caramel - congrats again on the glass; I knew you would like it :)

To this I somewhat agree.

Number one lesson in reloading. Never take another person's load.

All these pictures of rifles are just dandy, but really I want to see them shoot. Safe queens don't impress me. Lets see some down range lead and accuracy development if you feel the need to make a new post about a rifle that has a few other posts already.

This time of year, i am limited to 50 yards, when snow melt, i can make it to our range and start the fun, i will be able to get some 200 yards results before, going to le Ruisseau Noir... JP.

Caramel, how come the double turn turret is on the x axis , and what seems like the windage turret on top ? Seems backward. Dunno. I don't know all the SM scopes but if you can shed some light.

Mush

Maybe someone with better knowledge of S&B scopes could aswer this one, for myself, all look normal... JP.

on the SB 12-50 the windage turret is marked by color, yellow window your dialed left, black window your dialed to the right yellow/black and your "zeroed" the elevation turret is multi-turn and shows #1-6 in the window to indicate which revolution of the turret you are on

Thanks ( this gent know is S&B ), could not have said it myself better... JP.

Not all the S&B 12-50 are this however, I have one with the double turn elevation and normal windage. Interesting idea thou.

I was looking at these rifles before. They were on all the sponsors sites. They are not anymore? Where did you buy it ? Are they discontinued or something?

They all sold out, they were quite a bargain at 1750.00, i bought mine from Wanstalls... JP.

Got the S&B boresighted on the Sig SSG 3000 and i think, i never boresighed a rifle scope so fast... From the installation windage left-right was dead on then for elevation 1.5 turn and dead on for a 200 metres boresight... Now i did no shoot it yet but this combo feel like one of the best i ever assembled... My instinct is often right and now i am REALLY looking forward to shoot it... JP.
