3 gun ammo

If you left steel cases behind on my club's range, you would be littering.

That's why I love these gizmos ht tp://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/jobmate-magnetic-sweeper-0586803p.html#.UwYrTqeiu-c

Makes cleanup a breeze.. Well that's what I use when I'm plinking with the sks. Don't shoot steel-cased ammo in a competitive context.

Wow, do the people resetting the targets after a shooter not say something!? I think it would be fairly obvious who caused the damage, aka the guy who just shot..... I would let them take the steel home at the end of the day for a 100$ donation to your club.

These targets are self setting... Forget about donating money to the club.... these targets were private property....
And they were only $100 because I bought them at a special ptice direct from mgm.
I think reg. retail is closer to $200ea.

Yikes, I can see what something like that would do to your cornflakes and why you'd adopt a more aggressive policy :(

667, that is unacceptable, and I'm sorry to see that it happened to your targets. I would freakin throttle the offender. Tough lesson to learn the hard way, so thanks for passing it on to the rest of us. I take it you are now checking each competitor's ammo directly, then? Good for you. That should just be a regular expectation during a match (when appropriate), like random collection of ammo for power factor testing during IPSC matches.

It's sh1t like this that makes it difficult to get people to organize matches, and it discourages clubs from hosting them.

Personally I think only a$$***** don't pickup their steel casings, the range has to be swept after the match and everyone is requested to do their part. If your not willing to do your part and clean up your mess, well I really don't need your entry fee that badly.

As a Match Director, I will organize the stages so that there is minimal possibility to damage my steel. If you can't get 10 years use out of AR 500, you are doing something wrong. On the flyer I send out I always request that shooters use lead bullets as this also minimizes richocets.

As a shooter, I have been to matches where targets have been set heavy, and others where they are set light. The majority of the shotgun ammo I shoot is either 7.5 or 8, but I always have a box of #4 in my gun cart and 4 rds of #4 on my belt in case I end up with a couple of targets that are set heavy.

i will definately make sure i dont use MFS, and make sure there is no steel in my bullets. Its not worth it for the cost savings. I will pay more for good ammo to make sure the matches will stay around, i would never want to damage the targets.
